Role ResponsibilitiesOnboarding
  • Acting as the first point of contact for new personal tax clients, providing quotes based on their needs
  • Setting up new client registrations with HMRC and handling necessary authorisations
  • Managing KYC and financial due diligence as part of the onboarding process
  • Serving as the main contact for tax client queries, offering timely support and solutions
Compliance
  • Gathering client information and updating records annually
  • Preparing personal tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to tax regulations
  • Reviewing tax returns prepared by junior staff, identifying any errors or omissions
  • Preparing P11Ds and quarterly CT61 returns
  • Meeting with clients to discuss tax returns, queries, and planning opportunities
  • Managing estate tax matters and tax returns up to the date of death for individuals
Trusts
  • Handling tax administration for trusts, including registration and claims
Ad-Hoc Work
  • Attending client meetings and assisting other team members as needed
  • Expanding knowledge through ongoing training and development
Tax Planning & Advisory
  • Providing basic tax planning advice to clients
  • Assisting the internal team with tax-related queries
Making Tax Digital (MTD)
  • Supporting the implementation of MTD for income tax, working alongside the accounts team
Process & Performance Monitoring
  • Reviewing tax return completion levels, identifying opportunities for process improvements
  • Ensuring all returns are completed ahead of deadlines
  • Evaluating internal checklists and resources, ensuring adequate team support
  • Regularly communicating with directors and team members to drive efficiency and effectiveness

Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified tax professional (CTA, ATT, or equivalent experience)
  • Strong technical knowledge of personal tax, estate tax, and trust administration

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a client-focused approach
