Your main responsibilities:

  • to assist in maintaining the site by ensuring all buildings and grounds are kept in good order
  • to ensure the premises and grounds are continually fit for purpose
  • to carry out maintenance and repairs both as needed and part of a planned maintenance schedule

Your daily, weekly and monthly tasks:

  • Conduct regular inspections and ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of all areas
  • Keep a record of all the day-to-day activities
  • Comply with all policies re Health and Safety
  • Maintain plant and equipment service records, report defects, damages and malfunctions
  • Ensure safe storage of materials, paints etc
  • Regular inspection on services, utilities and building
  • Operate and maintain heating and hot water plant
  • Maintenance and H&S checks on water, fire alarm, exits, equipment, emergency lighting, asbestos etc
  • Organise and carry out movement of furniture and equipment
  • Liaise and manage contractors e.g window cleaners, gardening services, gas and electric etc..
  • Health and safety of yourself and others - contributing to a safe and secure environment
  • Ensure that all emergencies are dealt with speedily and effectively - being a key holder for the site.
  • Promote and maximise the security
  • Ensure effective risk management, writing and adhering to risk assessments
  • Weekly vehicle checks
  • Fire drills and other emergency evacuations

You will need:

  • to be able to drive and hold a valid licence
  • have a DBS checked completed
  • experience in a similar role
  • general maintenance knowledge
  • knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
  • an understanding of water systems
  • to be willing to be on call for emergencies (paid)
