The Role
As a Project Engineer, youll work closely with Sales Engineers during the pre-order stage and take full ownership of projects once they are handed over. This is a pivotal role where you will manage the day-to-day, and be responsible for ensuring smooth operations throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Sales Engineers on system design, estimating, and installation requirements during the pre-order stage.
- Take ownership of projects post-order, managing daily activities and ensuring successful implementation.
- Work with Design Engineers to produce detailed manufacturing drawings and attend site surveys.
- Procure equipment and services, ensuring timely delivery and installation.
- Conduct inspection visits to fabrication facilities, ensuring quality standards are met before dispatch.
- Communicate layout and installation arrangements to site engineers or customer representatives.
- Maintain accurate project records, including design notes and financial documentation.
- Assist with general project administration, including ordering equipment and arranging travel.
- Address financial cost overruns and ensure project milestones are met.
The Ideal Candidate:
You will be a highly skilled Project Engineer with at least five years of experience in an industrial engineering environment.
Skills and experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in industrial engineering or a related field.
- Proven ability to manage multifaceted projects with a focus on quality, time, and budget.
- Strong planning and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
- Commutable distance to Wilmslow (within 20 miles).
