This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to manage a diverse portfolio of clients, providing high-quality advisory and compliance services. The Role:As a Client Manager, you will be responsible for managing relationships with a portfolio of clients, ensuring that all their accounting, tax, and business advisory needs are met. You will be a trusted advisor to your clients, delivering insights and solutions that help them grow their businesses while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as their main point of contact for all accounting and tax matters.
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements, management accounts, and tax returns.
  • Providing business advisory services, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Overseeing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff, reviewing their work, and supporting their professional development.
  • Ensuring all work is completed accurately and on time, meeting client expectations and deadlines.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing proactive advice.
  • Assisting with onboarding new clients and contributing to business development activities.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in tax and accounting regulations, and ensuring compliance.
  • Liaising with HMRC and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients where necessary.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 4 years’ post-qualification experience in an accountancy practice.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver high-quality service.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and management accounts.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to clients.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Leadership experience, including supervising or mentoring junior staff.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
  • A proactive, client-focused approach, with a passion for delivering value to businesses.
