Overview:
Our client is seeking a Mental Health Nurse to join their Adult Acute Services team. The role involves providing high-quality care to adult patients with mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, personality disorders, depression, and bipolar disorder, in a supportive, therapeutic environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to make a significant impact on patients' lives while working in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team.
The Role:
The position involves supporting nursing care for a group of patients, acting as a named nurse and engaging with service users and their families. The post-holder will work within an acute mental health environment, offering 24-hour support to patients experiencing a mental health crisis. As a Mental Health Nurse, you will play a key role in planning and delivering care, ensuring a safe, supportive environment for both patients and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients, acting as a named nurse for a defined group.
- Collaborate with patients, carers, and families to plan and deliver individualized care.
- Engage with service users to assess needs and monitor progress.
- Adhere to the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) model in clinical practice.
- Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement processes.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic ward environment, acting as the Nurse in Charge when needed.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and facilitate effective team communication.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) practice and decision-making.
Requirements:
- Active NMC registration with a valid PIN.
- Knowledge of NMC standards, guidelines, and professional practices.
- A positive attitude with a commitment to service improvement and quality care.
- Flexibility and innovative approaches to practice.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- IT literate and able to work effectively within a team.

- Pay enhancements:
- Monday to Friday (22:00 – 6:30): 20% of hourly rate.
- Saturday: 20% of hourly rate.
- Sunday: 50% of hourly rate.
- Bank holidays: 50% of hourly rate.
