Occupational Therapist - Adult PICU Services
Location: Cheadle, Manchester
Salary: £35,392 FTE
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (Part-Time)

The provider’s multidisciplinary teams ensure that patients receive exceptional care, regardless of the complexity or severity of their needs.
Our PICU services have been designed to support individuals in the severe phase of their condition who cannot be managed in acute services. These specialized services place the provider at the forefront of intensive care, with highly trained teams supporting patients with complex needs and behaviors that may challenge, as well as co-existing issues such as substance misuse.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and passionate Occupational Therapist to join the team in an acute inpatient setting. In this role, you will assist both professional and clinical staff with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic activities aimed at improving patients' mental, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
• Treatment Plan Coordination: Manage and coordinate the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services, ensuring treatments, activities, and interventions are delivered effectively.
• Patient Assessments: Respond promptly to referrals and conduct patient assessments to identify and prioritize needs. Plan and deliver appropriate interventions, either on an individual or group basis. Maintain accurate, timely records of patient progress.
• Staff Supervision: Effectively manage and supervise more junior staff, ensuring efficient and high-quality care.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Foster strong working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multidisciplinary team, ensuring clinical practices align with policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
• Business Growth: Actively contribute to business development by promoting therapy services in line with the unit’s business plan.
• Communication: Maintain clear communication with patients, families, carers, and relevant parties throughout the rehabilitation process.
• Service Implementation: Lead the introduction of new services within the site, sharing best practices across the organization.
• Value for Money: Ensure services and support provided offer value for money and align with the overall goals of the unit.

Requirements:
• Qualification: BSc Hons or Diploma in Occupational Therapy, with HCPC accreditation.
• Experience: Minimum of one year's experience in a related clinical or therapeutic environment. Experience managing a caseload of patients with complex needs is desirable.
