Occupational Therapist - Acute Adult Inpatient Services
Location: Cheadle, Manchester
Salary: £24,733 per annum
Hours: 26.5 hours over 4 days

The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and passionate Occupational Therapist to join the team in an acute inpatient setting. The role involves providing therapeutic interventions aimed at improving the mental and emotional well-being of patients, helping them to achieve a better quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services, ensuring that interventions, activities, and treatments are delivered effectively.
- Respond promptly to referrals, conducting patient assessments to prioritize needs and deliver relevant interventions on an individual or group basis.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of each patient’s progress and rehabilitation.
- Supervise and manage more junior staff effectively.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multidisciplinary team, ensuring clinical practices are in line with policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
- Contribute to business development by promoting therapy services as part of the unit's business plan.
- Maintain communication with patients, relatives, carers, and relevant parties throughout the patient’s rehabilitation process.
- Lead the implementation of new services, sharing best practices across sites.
- Ensure the services provided offer value for money and align with the site's objectives.
Requirements:
- BSc Hons or Diploma in Occupational Therapy, with HCPC accreditation.
- At least one year's experience in a related clinical or therapeutic environment, ideally with experience managing a caseload of patients with complex needs.
