Quality Engineer, Ferndown, £35,000pa

Purpose of the role
As a Quality Engineer, you will take responsibility for maintaining and enhancing the Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 standards. Your primary goal will be to instil a 'right first time' culture across both internal production and external manufacturing processes.

As a Quality Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Product testing, including strategic testing as needed.
  • Implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and preparing for future standards (e.g., ISO 45001 and ISO 14001).
  • Standardising business practices and managing change, process flows, and revision control of all procedures.
  • Managing non-conformance control, internal quarantines, and conducting internal audits.
  • Leading Corrective Action Reports (CAR) for customer returns and complaints.
  • Supporting top-level project reviews and facilitating product release processes.
  • Establishing good inward inspection practices and auditing supply chain partners to ensure compliance with company quality expectations.

As a Quality Engineer, you will have:

  • Proven experience with ISO 9001 standards and Quality Management Systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in supply chain management and conducting supplier audits.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proactive and methodical approach to problem-solving.
