We are looking for an experienced Manual Machinist & Grinder to join an established and busy company which manufactures and supplies to the oil and gas industries. The role will be predominantly working on manual lathes but also working on the grinding machines. As this is a multi-skilled role training will be provided for the right candidate to support the transition into this role.

Skills and Responsibilities
Set and Operate Centreless grinders and surface Grinders to meet precise specifications, including tight tolerances and surface finishes.
Set and Operate Manual lathe and Manual Mill to meet precise specifications, including tight tolerances and surface finishes.
Set and Operate Lapping machines to meet precise specifications, including tight tolerances and surface finishes.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and job instructions to determine dimensions and tolerances of the finished workpiece.
Determine the appropriate machine settings, speeds, and feeds based on material and desired finish.
Select and set up proper grinding wheels, cutting tools, and abrasives based on the material being machined.
Preform assembly of parts using manual machine where necessary.
Use hand tools and measuring instruments such as micrometres, vernier callipers, dial indicators, and height gauges to verify dimensions and quality of parts.
Inspect completed work for accuracy, conformance to specifications, and proper surface finishes.
Identify and report any defects or non-conformance issues to supervisors.
Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning and lubrication.

Hours
Monday to Thursday 8am-4.30pm, Friday 8am-1pm
37 Hours

Pay Rate
16-18 per hour
