School Staffing Solutions are recruiting for a EHCP Quality Co-ordinator/Administrator to work across 2 sites, a Special Needs College, where they prepare our students for adult life, through person-centred academic and vocational study programmes leading to independent living with employment or further study. By working together, they increase resilience, confidence, self-esteem, emotional intelligence and well-being: the cornerstones on which strong and successful long-term futures are built.

The post holder will also work at the SEN School next door where they support young people between the ages of 11 and 16 who have additional social, emotional and mental health needs.

We are currently seeking a candidate with a strong admin background to join our friendly team as our new EHCP Quality Coordinator/Administrator.

The main purpose of the role:

As our EHCP Quality Co-ordinator/Administrator, you will ensure the Head of Education and Head of School are supported to undertake their roles effectively regarding procedures around transition into and out of school/college during pupils'/students' time at school/college with regard to their individual EHCP. In addition, ensuring the Management Information System is updated and holds correct information on the pupils/students regarding their EHCP needs.

Key duties:

  • Liaise and build effective relationships with relevant stakeholders both within and outside Boveridge College/Beeches School, ensuring effective cross functional working and building strong networks
  • Be proactive, keeping abreast of the EHCP paperwork and taking steps to alleviate issues when identified
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive data as per requirement for Boveridge College / Beeches School quality cycles, in liaison with key team members
  • To support the Heads of Education/School and colleagues in the identification of 'at risk' pupils
  • Ensure the College/School's systems for recording, storing and accessing students'/pupils' EHCPs is consistent and accessible for teachers
  • Ensure teachers/therapy specialist/care team have completed relevant work towards reviewing the students'/pupils' and setting appropriate and meaningful EHCP objectives.
  • Ensure teachers/therapy specialist/care are reminded in good time, to complete the necessary reviews of progress and ensure they feel supported to complete the tasks required of them
  • Pro-actively ensure the Heads of School/Education/Therapy/Care are fully prepared for all external/internal meetings

Successful candidate qualities:

Essential:

  • Good level of literacy and numeracy (at least 5 GCSEs above C / 4 to include English and Maths)
  • Computer literacy - Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and ability to use range of databases once trained
  • Accurate typing skills
  • Awareness of keeping children / young people and adults safe
  • Organised, good time management
  • Ability to manage own time to deal with multiple tasks
  • High levels of interpersonal ability with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Able to work as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of SEND and EHCP procedures
  • Understanding of SEND code of Practice and disability legislation
  • Demonstrable experience of working in an SEN specialist school/college environment
