Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Manager for a temporary, long-term and full-time position within a small Forest School Nursery based in Witchampton, Dorset. This is a temporary position, but the school are open to a permanent contract for the right candidate!

The school is located within the idyllic countryside of Witchampton, located just 10 minutes away from the town centre! It is a small, friendly, welcoming Preschool, where we believe every child is unique. They pride themselves on providing a nurturing, stimulating, enabling environment where every child can reach their full potential, and take joy in making every day magical, cherishing those meaningful and memorable moments. The woodlands are home to their wonderful Forest School sessions, providing an enriching environment for our children to enjoy.

As the Preschool Manager, the role will consist of:

  • Leadership – Managing and leading the team, recruiting/training, supervising and supporting of staff. Organising and overseeing contingency staffing where appropriate.
  • Curriculum - Plan and implement an appropriate curriculum that meets the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements, and confidently able to deliver this. Planning child-centred care and deliver weekly Forest School sessions.
  • Safety - Ensure the preschool is a safe environment for children, staff and others, ensuring the correct safety procedures are implemented.  Complete necessary risk assessments.
  • Policies & Procedures: Take responsibility for quality assurance and compliance with all applicable legislation, and ensuring all policies and procedures are up to date.
  • OFSTED: Become the settings OFSTED nominee, ensuring we are meeting all requirements. Support facilitation of inspections and implement any recommendations.
  • Marketing: Promote the Preschool to prospective parents. Represent the preschool within the local community.

The salary for this role is currently set up to £25,000 per annum, but the school are open to negotiation based on experience.

What are the candidate requirements for this position?- An experienced practitioner with relevant early years qualifications at Level 3 and above.- At least two years proven supervisory/managerial experience working in an early years care and education setting is desirable- Someone enthusiastic about outdoor learning and all it has to offer, with the ability to respond to children’s interests and initiatives, creating activities that encourage them to flourish.- To display excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to work and interact with staff, children and parents appropriately, and be a team player, with effective leadership skills, and the ability to work under pressure.- A patient, nurturing and warm individual with a creative mind to help enrich the children’s Preschool experience.- Approachable, open and trustworthy, building great relationships with families
