My client are seeking a Project Manager with a strong background in manufacturing to join their team. This role is pivotal in planning and executing projects from customer order receipt to delivery, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of their customers.
Day to Day of the role:- Evaluate technical and commercial elements of sales enquiries and develop project plans.
- Produce detailed proposals in response to sales team activities, including time and cost estimates.
- Lead risk identification and management throughout the quotation process.
- Provide margin analysis reports and ensure projects deliver against margin targets.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers, providing regular status reports and managing any issues that arise.
- Participate in customer visits and quality reviews up to final product acceptance.
- Develop and maintain key account management relationships with customers.
- Ensure compliance with export regulations for customer orders and quotations.
- Deliver weekly written reports on the status of projects.
- Produce and maintain project plans, calling regular project meetings and tracking actions.
- Manage project margins and develop mitigation plans with functional leaders.
- Utilize ERP systems to maintain project status and support production planning.
- Work alongside Design and Sales teams to provide technical assistance and support sales efforts.
- Prioritize pre-production activities and maintain customer delivery status through effective communication.
- Develop weekly project progress reports detailing timelines, margin status, costs to complete, and risks.
- Resolve technical enquiries with engineering support.
- HNC or Bachelor’s Degree level (or equivalent) in a related discipline.
- Proven experience in Project Management, Analysis, Design Skills, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Process Improvement, and Technical Understanding.
- Expertise in production processes and product quality requirements, including welding, NDT, and component manufacture.
- Experience in producing estimates, proposals, bids, or tenders for a precision engineering company or similar.
- Excellent communication, engagement, influencing, and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop relationships and generate new business.
- Good commercial acumen with oversight of production-specific proposals and client relationships.
- Competent in IT, including Microsoft packages, and experienced in using an ERP system.
- High level of attention to detail and willingness to travel both nationally and internationally.
