Our client, a customer centric financial services provider, are seeking a Risk Analyst to join their team 2nd line of defence Risk team. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will be supporting the embedding of credit and financial risk management frameworks to ensure they are robust and remain up to date.

Working with the business you will identify, quantify and assess risks, and support the process for overseeing the business models and framework, providing independent oversight and challenge from a risk management point of view.

Duties of the Risk Analyst will include:

  • Support the maintenance, development and enhancement of the regular reporting routines
  • Preparing risk analysis for relevant stakeholders and Committees
  • Presenting risk data and intelligence in a clear and effective way
  • Interpreting data, analyzing themes and trend and communicating these to drive insights
  • Support the embedding of a robust risk management framework, including risk management and policy reviews, to be monitored on a regular basis.
  • Undertake detailed analysis of Credit Risk portfolio performance to identify areas of emerging risk
  • Work closely with various business units, including IT, to create and automate tools for Prudential Risk Projects
  • Build and improve existing MI and analytical reporting tools to improve our understanding of current trends
  • Strengthen Credit Risk capabilities by incorporating new data sources in Credit Risk oversight

Whilst our client is based in Dorset, they are happy for this role to take on a hybrid approach. If already experienced within financial risk management then this can be undertaken largely remotely, if less experienced then would be required in the office 2-3 days a week.

The successful individual will possess:

  • Proven Analysis skills with advanced Excel skills incl. Data, Power Query, Tables & Formatting and VBA
  • 1 year + proven experience in a risk management or data analytics role
  • Experience of producing insightful analysis from data sets
  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree or equivalent in a quantitative field (e.g. Finance, Accounting, Maths, Science, Computer Science, Economics etc.)
  • Some technical understanding around credit risk and broader prudential risks with understanding of the prudential regulatory framework

This is a full time, permanent role, supporting the effective risk management of the business. The salary on offer is up to £48k but dependent on experience, they are open to more junior candidates with just 1 years analytics experience or more senior candidates with proven risk management and analytics exposure.
