Aspire Jobs are working with our well established, growing telecoms and IT solutions client who are now looking to recruit a2nd line Support Engineer to join their growing team.

This 2nd Line Support Engineer role will suit someone who is able to provide remote technical helpdesk support, who is willing to learn, has strong customer service skills, who has exceptional attention to detail, administration and time management skills. You will be at the more senior level of 2nd line support.

This candidate will be suited to someone who is a highly motivated engineer, with a can do attitude and a thorough, logical approached to planned projects and reactive support services. You must be sufficiently skilled in Technology and electronic products and service areas to ensure fault calls are responded to in an efficient and timely manner within give SLAs. If you have worked within any sort of telecoms/IT company, then you could be a great fit for this role.

Working as part of the 2nd line IT engineering support team, is a key role supporting and working closely with customers and the Team. The main focus will be responding to customer requests including escalations from the 1st line support team and queries to maximise customer satisfaction.

Areas of work will range from contributing to design solutions, planning/managing installation projects and possible occasional site visits. The individual will be expected to have a mature proactive response to the role, enjoy helping customers and have a real passion to drive the business forward.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Understanding around technology / telecoms
  • Microsoft 365 Implementation and Support
  • Microsoft Windows/Mac Server and Desktop Support
  • Group Policy and Active Directory Administration, new User set up, Sharepoint development and Azure files
  • Microsoft Security Set up including Defender, Patching, Anti Phishing/anti Spam/anti Virus etc
  • Remote Backup and firewall Procedures
  • Network Infrastructure covering: Broadband, Leased Lines, LANs & VLANs, DNS/DHCP, TCP/IP, Ethernet, Wireless routers/firewall
  • Knowledge of Hyper-V and VMWare
  • Veeam Back Up
  • Good customer servicer experience
  • Have the ability to work under pressure to SLAs and work to tight deadlines
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Have good time management skills
  • Be a team player
  • Be highly organised
  • You will need to be proactive in your approach
  • Have the ability to multi task

Preferred Qualifications would be:

Microsoft Certified on Prep/Cloud or equivalent

Hyper V / VMware

CCNA or equivalent

FortiGate/Cisco Firewalling or equivalent

ITIL or equivalent
