Our client based in Ferndown has an immediate requirement for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their team.

The primary role of the IT Support Engineer is to provide hardware and software support for end users and assist other members of the Team supporting IT infrastructure and services.

Troubleshooting is a key requirement for this role and will suit someone with a keen interest in all aspects of IT who has an analytical mind. Responsible for the maintenance and administration of the endpoint estate, including mobile phones and printers.

Support and improvement of IT applications and services will also form a feature of this role.

There will be an element of application installation and support.

The position provides exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities.

The Company is currently installing a new ERP system, Epicor Kinetic - part of the role will be to help with development, documentation and customisation of the system, SQL queries. Full training will be provided.

The key responsibilities will include:

  • Initial contact for software and hardware support issues, logging calls on ticketing system and providing resolution, escalating where required.
  • Performing routine administration of systems and software.
  • Responsible for the generation and maintenance of Virtual Machines and installation of end user software.
  • Perform routine administration for new employees and leavers.
  • Administration of the organisation’s business software and hardware asset management.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues by analysing root causes and evaluating options.
  • Assist in maintaining, administering and developing the IT Infrastructure in line with business needs.
  • Maintain and update supporting IT documentation, procedures and processes.
  • Administer and monitor internet and email filtering systems.

Applicants must have hands on technical experience with a minimum of 2 years providing end user Office application and system support, including hybrid Group Policy & Active Directory use. Evidence of continuing professional development. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows (10/11) desktop and server (2019) operating systems. Understanding of basic client-side networking concepts. Working knowledge of on prem Active Directory and Group Policy environment. MS Office 365/Entra administration.

This full-time position is offered on a permanent basis with an immediate start available for the right

candidate. Salary £29k to £32k, depending on qualifications and experience.

There will be a requirement to carry out work outside hours with no additional remuneration, as this

has been taken into account when setting the salary.
