Salary up to £55,000 + Car Allowance + 25 Days Holiday + PensionBlaymires Recruitment is representing a leading offsite design and build contractor based near Ringwood who is searching for a Quantity Surveyor to join the business.The company is well known for being the South’s largest modular building contractor and has successfully delivered projects across the MoD, Education, Social Housing and Commercial sectors.Projects have included classrooms through to large scale accommodation with project values ranging from £1M to £30M.With a full order book they are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team. You will provide commercial support to the project manager and be responsible for all commercial aspects of projects, ensuring that financial performance meets or exceeds profitability targets.Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue standard contract documents.
  • Preparation of Contract letters and associated documentation to the client including claims for additional cost, EOT etc.
  • With the assistance of the Project manager prepare detailed scope of works for sub-contractors to price.
  • Running Pre-let contract meetings with sub-contractors.
  • Valuation of sub-contract works on site.
  • Agreement of sub-contractors day work sheets.
  • Agreement and sign off final accounts for sub-contractors.
  • Preparation of monthly valuations to the client.
  • Adjust client valuations to incorporate BCIS index rates at the relevant trigger points.
  • Determining the effect PMI’s have on the project cost/programme.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of variations, determining if they are recoverable.
  • Preparation of project spend data and forecast costs to complete monthly via the CVR.
  • Preparation and management of a Project risk register.
  • Identifying risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills

  • HNC in Construction or relevant Degree level qualification.
  • You will have at least 3 years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor or sub - contractor.
  • Have a good working knowledge MS Office - Intermediate level of Excel.
  • To be able to write clear and precise communications which might include detailed and complex figures, calculations and specific building information.
  • Strong numeracy and financial management skills and the ability to learn construction management IT packages.
  • Driving licence.
