About the Role: As a member of the design team, you will be responsible for creating quotations and electrical designs for client projects, ensuring all designs meet the required technical standards and safety requirements. You will be responsible for accurately specifying components and creating detailed BOMs. You will also provide technical support to external clients, the Internal Sales Office, Area Sales Managers, and other members of the business when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare quotations, technical drawings, and wiring schematics using AutoCAD, ensuring margins are maintained across all products within the business.

  2. Configure and test pre-wired equipment before dispatch, completing all test documentation.

  3. Review any manufacturing issues highlighted and update drawings/processes to prevent re-occurrences.

  4. Maintain the design and test database by logging all product designs and test data accurately.

  5. Provide technical support to colleagues and external customers.

  6. Check and approve drawings for production.

  7. Provide drawings linked to stock items where those do not exist.

  8. Update old drawings and up-issue drawing numbers.

  9. Be available for problem-solving, including on-site visits.

  10. Support the business in new product designs (NPD).

  11. Create and update CAD blocks for the shared library.

  12. Perform other duties as required by the Manager.

Other Relationships:

  1. Accountable to the Design Manager.

  2. Liaises with the Production Manager, Customer Services Manager, PQ production, and customer service personnel.

  3. Liaises with external customers and suppliers.

Hours of Work:

  • Monday to Friday with a one-hour unpaid lunch break per day.

  • Normal working hours: 37 hours per week.
