As a Logistics Relief Driver, you'll support one of our clients six regions by covering driver vacancies, holidays, training, and absences. This role offers variety and requires flexibility, including potential nights away and weekend travel. You will play a key role in operating the customers fleet, transporting modular structures and temporary units with lorry loader cranes, while also assisting the Tanker team to meet customer welfare needs and maintain operational efficiency.

About this Class 1 Relief Driver Position:

  • 12-week temp to perm position
  • Deliver products and services on time and in full (OTIF), reporting any issues promptly.
  • Follow planned routes and movement orders.
  • Maximise loading/unloading efficiency to complete tasks.
  • Ensure compliance when moving abnormal loads.
  • Operate a lorry loader crane in various environments.
  • Assist the Tanker team with customer service calls.
  • Perform safety checks on vehicles and equipment, reporting issues immediately to ensure compliance.
  • Delivering shipping containers, site accommodations, modular buildings and permanent buildings
  • Adhere to EU driving hours and Working Time Regulations, aiming for zero infringements.

What we require from you as a Class 1 Driver:

  • Full UK Class 1 Driving licence with valid CPC and Digi Tacho card
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience driving Class 1 vehicles
  • Proven experience in operating a lorry loader crane, ranging from 31 tonnes to 82 tonnes.
  • Essential experience with hook work.
  • Prior experience with operating a wagon and drag combination (artic).
  • A valid CPCS and/or ALLMI lorry loader operator qualification, or a D1+E Unlimited certification (or equivalent), is required.
  • A strong commitment to always upholding safety standards.
  • A dedication to delivering outstanding customer service, with the customer at the core of all activities.
  • Willingness to be flexible, as work assignments may require travel away from home during the week, operating various types of vehicles at different locations. These assignments may change at short notice, based on business or operational requirements.
  • Own transport to commute to locations
