Job Title: Highway Development Coordinator

Location: Winchester offices for 2 days / 3 days remote workingSalary: PAYE £39.39 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate between developers, consultants, and various stakeholders (e.g., HDA Design Audit Engineer, Highways Development Planning officers).
  • Facilitate design audits and legal progress meetings.
  • Liaise with National Highways, including coordinating submissions, passing feedback, and organizing meetings.
  • Support booking road space and negotiating agreements with National Highways (e.g., Section 6 agreements).
  • Develop a Master Document Register for design documents, audits, and approvals.
  • Provide updates on program constraints, road space, and development status.
  • Oversee S278 and S38 submissions and agreements, from design to legal reviews.
  • Track and report on financials (fees, bonds) and project status quarterly.
Requirements:
  • Essential:
    • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
    • Political awareness and corporate policy knowledge.
    • Broad knowledge of transport planning, highway engineering, and planning policy.
    • Experience working across teams.
  • Desirable:
    • Degree with professional accreditation (e.g., chartered or incorporated).
    • Significant demonstrable industry experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • No DBS required.
  • Driving license needed (car use for site visits).
Working Conditions:
  • Hybrid working: Home-based/office-based with some site visits.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (e.g., hard hat, safety boots, reflective clothing).
  • Potential contact with contaminated soil/water during site inspections.
