Role Overview

As a Principal Engineer, Offshore Structures, you will take charge of leading and mentoring the offshore design team, ensuring the execution of structural analysis for offshore substructures and topsides. You will be responsible for defining technical solutions, reviewing team outputs, and collaborating with various disciplines to meet project goals. Your proactive approach and problem-solving skills will be essential in driving successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and plan the offshore design team's activities for assigned projects.
  • Perform structural analysis for offshore substructures and topsides.
  • Develop technical solutions during various design stages, including feasibility, FEED, and detailed design.
  • Review and approve technical documentation produced by the team.
  • Prepare concept sketches and feasibility studies.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and project management to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to junior engineers and support multiple project teams.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Extensive experience in the analysis and design of offshore structures, including substructures and topsides.
  • Proficiency in using FEM models for fixed offshore structures and designing foundation systems.
  • Experience in re-design and assessment of brownfield structures, life extension, and reliability analysis.
  • Expertise in non-linear analyses, blast impact, redundancy, and pushover analysis.
  • Familiarity with offshore structural materials, fabrication, and installation.
  • Experience in floaters design and leading tender documentation for offshore structures.
  • Ability to lead and direct structural engineering teams, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical information effectively.
  • Experience with relevant computer tools such as DNVGL SESAM Suite, USFOS, ANSYS, and SACS.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering (with a focus on structures).
