HAYS are currently in search of an experienced Commercial Manager to lead and oversee all commercial aspects of our projects, ensuring they achieve optimal financial performance. This role involves acting as a strategic advisor to the delivery team and Project Managers on contractual issues, ensuring projects are delivered as planned.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Convert bids into contracts through effective post-tender negotiations.
  • Maintain and manage contract documentation, providing advice on pre-tender and post-contract matters.
  • Prepare and send contractual communications to clients and subcontractors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with design teams and clients post-contract.
  • Develop and implement material procurement strategies.
  • Negotiate and finalise subcontract agreements.
  • Ensure timely submission of interim valuations and payments.
  • Manage and resolve project variations to maximise value.
  • Certify subcontractor valuations and finalise accounts.
  • Oversee the preparation and agreement of final accounts with clients.
  • Perform cost-value reconciliations and manage regular project financial reporting.
  • Monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion.
  • Promote the professional growth of the commercial team as necessary.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • HNC/HND/BSc in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High levels of self-motivation and commercial insight.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and encourage collaboration.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work across various business areas and adapt to dynamic role demands.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and adding value to the company.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or relevant placement during studies.
  • Some knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects.
