Our client, a reputable entity in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Team Leader/CNC Machinist for a Temp to Perm role. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and lead the milling section to ensure quality and efficiency in production.
Key Responsibilities:- Set and operate CNC milling machine tools.
- Setting of cutting tools, machine tool, and workpiece datums.
- Assess tool condition and maintain as necessary.
- Self-inspect own work in accordance with the planning layout and customer drawing.
- Manage daily quality and production requirements and performance issues.
- Provide training for new or temporary employees.
- Undertake return to work interviews, performance reviews, maintain discipline, ensure safe working practices, and maintain appropriate records.
- Liaise between your peer/work group and management regarding day-to-day problems.
- Hold meetings with the team and act on feedback.
- Maintain close liaison with the Operations Manager or his deputy regarding the improvement of production or handling techniques.
- Experience in a supervisory role.
- Extensive milling experience.
- Proficiency in using CNC machines; Mazak machine tools experience is desirable, but not essential.
- Ability to produce high-quality, tight-tolerance components in a variety of materials.
- Strong understanding of quality and production management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively between different teams and management.
- Commitment to maintaining high safety standards and production efficiency.
- Potential for competitive rates based on experience.
