Senior Project Manager – Engineering - Hampshire – £50,000 – £60,000 Per annum – Generous company benefit package, Hybrid working
Reed Secure are supporting a leading medium-sized engineering company based near to Winchester in Hampshire in the search for a Senior Project Manager to join their team. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for delivering mission-critical engineering solutions from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have worked within a heavily regulated industry within defence, aerospace, nuclear, manufacturing, oil & gas or similar and will have engineering project experience.
- Salary – £50-60K per annum (depending on experience) – with a £4800 car allowance allocation on top of the basic salary.
- 3 days onsite near to Winchester, Hampshire and 2 days working from home.
- The successful candidate will be required to undertake security vetting BPSS clearance and must be eligible to undertake SC clearance.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage the engineering and design of the project from inception to completion
- Managing the full project lifecycle
- Administer and manage all allocated contracts, ensuring they are delivered on budget and on schedule.
- Complete internal and client project reporting accurately and autonomously.
- Manage suppliers and subcontractors for manufacturing, fabrication, and specialist services.
- Handle procurement of bought-out items and produce accurate project documentation in line with contract requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients to ensure their expectations are met and to identify opportunities for further work.
- Manage change in scope and ensure appropriate compensation is received.
- Produce resourced programmes and work plans and manage allocated resources through the project phases.
- Provide accurate project forecast reports and plans in accordance with company processes.
- Assess, direct, and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progress on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure overall quality and management of projects and programmes.
- Manage budget and ensure financial accountability for nominated projects.
- Support the Head of Projects and other business needs as required.
- Line management of team members, including conducting one-to-ones and appraisals.
- Comply with GDPR and company data protection policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- APM Project Management qualification or equivalent.
- Substantial exposure to managing a variety of contracts (NEC3 or 4 preferred).
- Extensive project and programme management experience
- Experience managing subcontract manufacturers in a heavily regulated industry.
- Strong project management and organisational capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage and motivate teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, MS Project etc.).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
