THE COMPANY: My client are a forward thinking main contractor with a regional turnover in excess of 150m. They have an extensive portfolio of completed schemes spans a wide range of sectors including cutting edge carbon free buildings, Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Ecclesiastical, Industrial, Leisure and General Public works and these have been secured using a diverse range of procurement methods including substantial repeat business methods due to their non-confrontational approach. They are also included on many Framework agreements.

POSITION: Bid Manager

Liaise with external parties to acquire tender enquiries and contract awards attending meetings and presentations as necessary.
Coordinating the following activities within the Pre-Contract Department to ensure efficient processing of tender opportunities, tender preparation and tender submissions
Estimating
Planning
Design Management
Attend and initiate regular department meetings to review workload and resource
Liaise with other Departments to obtain information and the attendance of personnel to prepare prequalification and tender submissions and related interviews/meetings
Review the content and quality of documentation used in prequalification tender submissions and interviews
Review the tender activity with other Managers to ensure that risk is mitigated and residual risk is identified and presented to the tender adjudication meeting
Ensure smooth handover of projects form precontracts to contracts departments
Identify and select with other managers preferred consultants for appointment on Design and Build projects. Maintain records of appointments and obtain feedback on performance
Coordination with Land Advisor to ensure development opportunities are maximised.
