Your new companyA well known organisation based in the North Hampshire area is seeking an Operational Risk, Governance & Assurance Manager with a diverse skill-set, to work primarily in their offices (Potentially 1 day a week working from home.) Your new roleThis is a broad-based governance opportunity which would suit someone who has worked in a similarly diverse role. This position is based primarily on-site in the office. (working one day from home each week) You will be:

  • Establishing and proactively managing and developing the Group's Assurance & Risk programme, covering areas including:
  • Company Secretarial
  • Enterprise Risk Management
  • GDPR
  • Health, Safety & Security & Compliance
  • Business Continuity, Resilience & Supply Chain processes
  • ISO Management System compliance (45001 & 14001)
  • Governance framework
  • Change Management
  • Corporate Ethics & Compliance
  • Reporting and tracking progress against recommended actions, including relevant items raised from audits.
  • Regularly reviewing and ensuring that the Risk Management framework addresses the needs of the business, including requirements that may be set by external parties, regulatory and governing bodies and internal policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring appropriate management of risk across the business by, working with stakeholders to ensure controls are in place and monitored, challenging and guiding risk owners to better understand risk and reporting, ensuring that risk documentation is up-to-date, championing continuous improvement and facilitating discussions on assurance and risk.
  • Co-ordinating and administering the Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Risk Committee, promoting regulatory requirements, industry standards and best practices. This includes ensuring the Committee operates efficiently and compliantly by planning meetings, compiling board materials, and ensuring that the meeting minutes and records are accurate.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and sharing knowledge with colleagues.

What you'll need to succeedYou will ideally hold a relevant qualification in Risk Management, Auditing or Governance/Company Secretarial

  • You will have experience in the professional operational audit/assurance or risk management field.
  • You may have a background in legal, company secretarial, governance or operational risk /compliance.
  • You should have knowledge of ISO standards (45001 & 14001) and knowledge of legislation around HSE and GDPR.
  • You will require strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain the benefit of risk & assurance at all levels within the organisation.
  • You will be happy working in a dynamic and changing culture developing partnerships with multiple stakeholders.
