We are seeking a Senior Teaching Assistant to join our close-knit team at a small, friendly primary school located in Kings Worthy, Winchester. This exciting role includes HLTA responsibilities, and we are keen to hear from applicants who have Level 2+ relevant qualifications. About the Role: As a Senior Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to raise the learning and attainment of children.
  • Complement teachers’ delivery of our curriculum, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.
  • Promote pupils' independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion.
  • Take on the responsibility of covering whole classes during PPA, leadership time, and short-term teacher absences.
  • Provide small group teaching or 1:1 support to enable children to access the curriculum effectively.
  • Use initiative to assess children's learning needs and offer effective feedback to inform teaching and provision.
  • Support children individually or in groups, helping them experience success and love their learning.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is ambitious for all children to achieve and develop a love for learning.
  • Holds GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Mathematics.
  • Has HLTA status or a relevant qualification (though this is not essential for the right candidate).
  • Can demonstrate a nurturing approach and work well as part of a team.
  • Is ready to take on the challenge of working independently and using initiative in the classroom.
