Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) - Andover Area

Are you passionate about making a difference in a child's life? A delightful rural primary school near Andover is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team, providing essential support to a child with additional needs. Due to the school's location, having access to your own transport is essential.

About the Role:

  • Supporting a child in a nurturing 1:1 setting
  • Working closely with the class teacher to ensure the child can engage with lessons and school activities
  • Offering emotional and academic support both in and out of the classroom
  • Promoting positive behaviour and helping the child navigate their social and learning environment

About You:

  • Experience working with children who have additional needs such as Autism, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, or Sensory Learning difficulties
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by children with Special Educational Needs
  • A positive, "can-do" attitude and willingness to contribute to the wider school community
  • A driving licence and access to your own vehicle (due to the rural location of the school)

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role, supporting children with additional needs
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Relevant qualifications or training (e.g., Team Teach) are advantageous but not essential
