Senior, Principal or Associate Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Wider Southampton area

Salary and remuneration: £40,000 to £65,000 + excellent bonus schemeAbout the Company:

The Roles:

  • Engineers of all experience levels are welcome.
  • Join a team delivering first-class engineering solutions while reducing environmental impact.
  • Work in the uniquely challenging and rewarding Historic Buildings sphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and specify mechanical or electrical building services systems.
  • Conduct surveys, reports, inspections, and project management.
  • Support senior engineers and potentially lead your own projects as you develop.
  • Senior roles include client and practice development with career progression to Director level.

Key Requirements:

  • Technical ability and commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Ability to produce designs for unique buildings under supervision and work independently.
  • Awareness and understanding of other disciplines.
  • Project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Team ethos and appreciation of the importance of clients, architects, and other design team members.
  • Interest in and understanding of historic buildings, their context, and importance.

What the client is looking for:

  • Degree in a relevant subject or HNC with appropriate experience.
  • 3 years of Building Services Consultancy experience (Intermediate roles).
  • 5 years of Building Services Consultancy experience (More senior roles).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of project coordination and ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Self-motivated mindset and willingness to learn.
  • Initiative to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to demonstrate a pragmatic approach to design
