Job Description:
To provide an intelligence research function to support the Force Financial Development Unit /Financial Intelligence Supervisor by receiving, process, evaluating, disseminating and accounting for intelligence gained through the SAR's regime and Confiscation order review process.

Contract: 6 months with potential extension
Work hours: Full time - Office Hours - Hybrid
Salary: £16.71 per hour PAYE

Main duties and responsibilities
To act as deputy Force Financial Intelligence Supervisor and perform the functions of that role, subject to the appropriate levels of accreditation, when the Financial Intelligence Supervisor is away from the office.
To research Suspicious Activity Reports allocated to the force on a daily basis to identify criminality and vulnerability.
To produce financial profiles and raise intelligence packages for onward dissemination to Investigators and identify money laundering offences which could lead to a confiscation investigation
Assess, research and matrix reported suspicious activity reports relating to money mules and instigate the appropriate disruption activity.
To liaise with subjects believed to be acting as a money mules.
To take responsibility and support the first line manager with research and decision making regarding all 'defence against money laundering' and 'defence against terrorist financing' requests
Interrogate the Financial Intelligence Gateway (FIG) and other sources of information to develop financial intelligence.
To research and review past Confiscation orders to identify assets now held, such that the order can be revisited by an accredited Financial Investigator also to add warning markers on RMS and submit PNC circulations regarding new confiscation orders.
To create and maintain spreadsheets to account for the utilisation of Suspicious Activity Reports.
To research and utilise all available intelligence that will inform Intelligence and Analytical products in line with the National Intelligence Model.
To research and utilise all available intelligence from Police systems and external agencies that will inform intelligence and analytical products.
To be familiar with the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act and associated best practice, to also be familiar with force policy on Equal Opportunities and Data Protection, as well as having a general awareness of the Human Rights Act.
Essential
Educated to Educated to QCF Level 3 OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.
Requirement to pass a Financial Intelligence Officer accreditation exam and subsequent programme run by the National Crime Agency.
To be competent in the use of MS Office products, in particular Word and Excel.
Proven experience working in a busy office environment.
