Progress Chaser

Opportunity for a motivated Expeditor/Progress Chaser to undertake a key long term contract role working within a busy manufacturing supply chain environment.

 
As Production Expeditor / Progress Chaser, you will support the supply chain and materials team to ensure that projects are efficiently supported, and materials are released to production to ensure on-time delivery (OTIF) of customer orders.  

As Progress chaser / expeditor you will be part of a dynamic team, and you will need to the ability to work independently and interface with cross-functional disciplines, using excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion.


Key responsibilities as a Production Expeditor will include:

  • Using your tenacity to identify any materials shortages, building collaborative relationships with suppliers but also being persistent to ensure on time delivery
  • Play a key role in liaising with production to identify any potential shortfall against the production plan.
  • Support the WIP (Work in Progress) inventory process
  • Analysing data and using software reporting tools 
  • Utilise SAP to identify any necessary revision of release dates for work orders
  • Updating the SAP system / maintaining accurate bill of materials (BOM)

To succeed in this interesting role you will ideally have:

  • Either Expediting or progress chasing experience gained within a manufacturing/engineering environment

or experience working as a purchasing administrator, junior buyer or related supply  chain or logistics role with the ability to work independently and interface with cross-functional disciplines; using excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion

  • SAP experience (or similar ERP/MRP systems considered)
  • Strong analytical skills
