Art Teacher - Southampton - SEN SchoolAcademics are looking for a creative and engaging Art Teacher to join an independent special school on the edge of the New Forest/Totton area in for children aged from 8-16 years who have a range of severe or complex needs arising from life trauma, Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), attachment disorder or a phobia of education. This is a full-time, temp to perm/permanent contract starting ASAP.The school provides up to 80 places for boys and girls from a wide range of neighbouring local authorities. They have various sites on the outskirts of the New Forest/Southampton. I am looking for someone to work at their Dibden Purlieu site.They are looking for an Art teacher who is able to plan and deliver exciting Art lessons across the school. They are happy to consider both qualified and unqualified Art Teacher's for the role. They are looking for someone who is passionate about Art and is able to build positive relationships with the students. You must be engaging, empathetic and strong in the classroom.This role would be suited to someone who has worked in an SEN/SEMH school or with pupils with challenging behaviours, although the are open to teachers coming from a mainstream background.
