Based in Hampshire, this role will see you overseeing all aspects of the shipping and distribution process, ensuring efficient and timely deliveries. Key Responsibilities for the position of Shipping Manager -
- Manage the entire shipping process, overseeing deliveries across various international markets.
- Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and customers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery solutions.
- Monitor shipping costs, quality, and compliance with local and international shipping regulations, including customs clearance.
- Oversee European VAT returns and stay updated on relevant trade laws and industry standards.
- Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers and logistics providers, reducing costs while maintaining high service standards.
- Develop and implement contingency plans for potential supply chain disruptions, ensuring insurance coverage for goods in transit.
- Implement and maintain sustainable shipping practices to optimise routes and reduce environmental impact.
Key Experience Required for the position of Shipping Manager -
- Proven experience in shipping management within the commodities or similar industry.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics procedures and international shipping regulations.
- Experience in preparing and managing shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs declarations.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, capable of managing internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using shipping and logistics software, with a high level of computer literacy.
