Principal Mechanical Engineer - Winchester

As the demand for their expertise continues to grow, they have an opportunity for an ambitious Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their MEP team based in Winchester.

 

You will be able to demonstrate solid experience of working in a design capacity with good all-round knowledge of building services installations. Working as part of a team, you will be expected to manage your own project work, undertaking design from concept through to detailed design, all while delivering excellent levels of client service.

Their current wide ranging project portfolio includes work in the science and research, advanced manufacturing, motorsport, education, defence, commercial and residential sectors.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Working as the Principal Engineer in a design team being responsible for mechanical building services design
  • Supervising and monitoring the work of junior engineers
  • Using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design the systems required for the project
  • Undertaking mechanical design calculations using industry standard software packages
  • Producing reports, drawings and specifications to suit RIBA design stages
  • Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors from both in-house and external project teams
  • Attending a range of project group and technical meetings
  • Carry out construction stage monitoring duties, including technical reviews and site-based inspections
