Plant Supervisor - Anaerobic Digestion

We're looking for those with anaerobic digestion experience or those with supervisory experience in very similar sectors.

About the role:
Astute's Renewables Team is partnering exclusively with a key business and influential player in the UK Anaerobic Digestion market. The company are seeking to crew up their first asset which will be operational in early 2025. We're looking for motivated individuals who want to make a difference to the UK's energy transition and who like to work in an outdoors environment and with supervisory experience.

The Plant Supervisor role comes with an excellent salary, with overtime available and the chance to progress within the business and be the Plant Manager's right-hand person.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Plant Manageryou will:

  • Supervising the operations crew on the anaerobic digestion plant on a day to day basis
  • Support the Plant Manager to implement and achieve operational and personal targets
  • Oversee and ensure the compliant operation of the asset
  • Be the conduit between the operations team and the Plant Manager
  • Deputise for the Plant Manager in their absence
  • Maintain all relevant site health, safety, quality and environmental standards
  • Assist with ensuring that operational budgets and forecasting is accurate, in order for it to be reported to senior management
  • Perform continual site audits to ensure that the site is running to an excellent standard and always looking for ways to improve site operations
  • Perform all duties an Operator would, leading from the front and upskilling and mentoring the team where possible
  • Feeding the plant using a Telehandler
  • Participate in an on-call rota (for which you're paid)
  • Other duties are required

Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Telehandler licence is hugely preferred
  • A recognised engineering qualification is preferred but not essential
  • Supervisory experience is essential
  • Experience in an agricultural or production environment
  • UK driving licence

Personal skills:
The Plant Supervisor role would suit someone who is:

  • A problem-solver and self-starter
  • Excellent verbal and written English language
  • Someone hard-working who enjoys working outdoors
