Do you have experience working with young people with special educational needs? Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant for a full time, long term role on a temporary basis, based in Winchester.  The school is a small Primary setting located within central Winchester and has a small number of pupils with additional learning needs requiring additional support at a 1:1 level. At the school, the vision is to provide a high-quality education where accessibility and inclusivity are the central focus with regards to education delivery, working towards providing pupils with the essentials to achieve to the best of their abilities.

The pupil you will be working with is currently working towards early learning goals with no behavioural issues. They are currently working at a KS1 level and is currently within a lower KS2 class.As the Learning Support Assistant, you will:• Have great communication skills with empathy for children• Be confident working 1:1, with experience of dealing with various behaviours consistently• Able to work independently and with initiative• Specific skills including Team Teach, PECS, TEACCH to support learning (desirable)• Previous experience working with SEN pupils within a school setting (essential)
