SEN Teacher - SEN School in New Forest, Southampton, HampshireJanuary 2025 start - MPS + SEN AllowanceAcademics are looking to recruit an outstanding SEN Teacher to join an amazing SEN School in the New Forest area of Hampshire in January 2025. The Specialist Independent School caters for young people aged 5 - 16 years with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and associated complex needs such as Challenging Behaviours.The successful SEN Teacher will play a vital role in creating an inclusive learning environment, adapting curriculum content, and implementing individualised strategies to meet the diverse needs of their students. This is a full-time teaching position to start in January 2025. Option of permanent or temp to perm contract.Key Responsibilities

  • To deliver engaging, quality and differentiated lessons to meet the needs of students with ASC and associated needs.
  • Assess pupils' progress and needs regularly. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Provide tailored support to pupils, implementing strategies for social, emotional, and behavioral development.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to each student's education and well-being
  • Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment that promotes respect and learning

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with students with ASC and associated needs, ideally in an SEN School setting
  • Strong understanding of inclusive education practices and tailored teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice

This position is open to both primary and secondary trained teachers. Although experience of working in an SEN School would be an advantage, they are happy to consider teachers from all backgrounds, as long as they have a passion for teaching children with SEN.
