Your new company
You will be working for a local council working in their in-house team.


Your new role
To provide the strategic highway / transport advice on selected planning applications referred to the County Council by the Local Planning Authorities.


Further to this, the role will assist with the negotiation and progression of innovative Section 106 and 278 transport improvement packages with developers, consultants and landowners.


You will be responding to planning applications of all scales on behalf of the Highway Authority, consideration of internal site layouts, suitability of access arrangements, assessment and negotiation of off-site mitigation packages.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Transport planning experience at an appropriate level
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes and procedures
  • Good working knowledge of relevant planning policies such as NPPF and local transport policy such as LTP4
  • Ability to analyse data, interpret transport modelling and prepare draft reports
  • You will be required to travel to various locations within Hampshire [and the Isle of Wight or other local authority], and it is essential that you have a current drivers' licence
  • Excellent IT skills on a range of Microsoft packages
  • Effective communication skills ideally including experience of giving presentations, and customer engagement
