Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to subject development by producing , reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
- Strong knowledge of the curriculum
- Punctual and reliable
- Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
- Develop approach to self - directed learning , use technology to support learning
- Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
- Set homework and mark promptly
- Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
- Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
- Respond to questioning
- To liaise within and where required with other departments over suitable cross-curricular issues.
- To attend meetings with parents as required.

- To review the Learning Support register regularly and make sure the needs of the pupils are met within the Economics and Information Technology subjects.
- To ensure that the Academic scholars are stretched and that appropriate programmes of study for the gifted and talented pupils within Economics and Information Technology are in place and being used.
- To operate within the School's behaviour management policy and to record all instances where behaviour does not meet the desired standard.
- To produce predicted grades, entry lists and other administrative items required for pupils entering public examinations.
- To provide appropriate support to all pupils who choose to use the department as a research area for their extended Essay.
- To ensure that literacy, numeracy and ICT are addressed through the teaching of Economics and Information Technology.
- To increase attainment and pupil engagement in Information technology.
Personal Attributes:
- you will have a genuine passion for teaching
- experience up to key stage 3/4
- QTS/PGCE equivalent
- Ability to prioritise own workload and work independently demonstrating strong organisational skills
- Ability to demonstrate a flexible attitude and approach to tasks
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Willingness to undergo appropriate checks, including enhanced DBS checks Essential
- Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children
Full time staff are expected to contribute to boarding weekend and evening duties.
