PERMANENT POSITION

We are looking for an Economics Teacher who can teach up to A Level standard,we need you to be able to inspire the next generation of Economists by helping pupils understand this broad discipline.

You need to be able to motivate pupils to grasp historic trends, interpret today's headline and make predictions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to subject development by producing , reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
  • Develop approach to self - directed learning , use technology to support learning
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Respond to questioning
  • To liaise within and where required with other departments over suitable cross-curricular issues.
  • To attend meetings with parents as required.

  • To operate within the School's behaviour management policy and to record all instances where behaviour does not meet the desired standard.
  • To produce predicted grades, entry lists and other administrative items required for pupils entering public examinations.
  • To provide appropriate support to all pupils who choose to use the department as a research area for their extended Essay.
  • To ensure that literacy, numeracy and ICT are addressed through the teaching of Economics and Information Technology.
  • To increase attainment and pupil engagement in Information technology.

Personal Attributes:

  • Ability to prioritise own workload and work independently demonstrating strong organisational skills

  • Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children

Full time staff are expected to contribute to boarding weekend and evening duties.
