The Role:

Our client a well established interior designer is seeking a highly experienced Accounts Assistant, to join their finance team, supporting daily financial operations and ensuring everything runs smoothly. From handling invoices and credit control to assisting with monthly reports, this role is perfect for someone who loves to stay organised and loves interacting with others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Print and log incoming invoices on Xero, ensuring they’re issued for sign-off and updating records once payments are made.
  • Process sales invoices and upload them onto Xero.
  • Manage credit control, handling the accounts receivable ledger and chasing outstanding debtors.
  • Assist in preparing monthly management reports and distributing them to the board.
  • Help Contract Managers update CVR forms for client projects.
  • File hard copies of invoices and statements.
  • Perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations with Xero.
  • Assist with the weekly payment run process.
  • Process expense claims, checking receipts, calculating VAT, and totalling expenses.
  • Provide cover for the Accounts Assistant as needed.
  • Assist with improving internal processes to enhance efficiency in the finance department.
  • Be the point of contact for external auditors during the annual audit.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Highly Experienced Accounts Assistant
  • Experience with Xero or Quickbooks is essential.
  • Clear and effective communication skills are a must - you’ll need to be comfortable liaising with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Big personality - we’re looking for someone who’s chatty, friendly, and approachable.
  • Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience in finance or accounts is preferred, but we’re also open to junior candidates looking to grow in this field.
