The Plate at No.6 restaurant offers modern Mediterranean Tapas cuisine in the heart of Windsor, Berkshire. We are seeking a Head Chef to head up our small kitchen side operations.

The restaurant has a broad customer base whether they are tourists or our cherished local clientele and we would expect our Head Chef to lead in producing the quality that our customers would expect in such a prestigious location.

The Head Chef should have experience in a fine dining environment or equivalent.

The Head Chef needs to demonstrate they have a flexible approach that is adaptable to a changing market and the availability of resources.

The Head Chef must be able to demonstrate they have the experience of being responsible for a team and in producing excellent dishes.

The Head Chef is required to have effective and efficient communication with the front of house team that is focused on teamwork.

The Head Chef will have a range of responsibilities which will include the following:

To Manage the kitchen at the Plate at No 6 Restaurant which will include being responsible for all Chefs and Kitchen Porters. This will include devising rotas and sustaining kitchen operations during periods of leave and sickness.

Developing a sustainable and attractive menu while identifying ideas for changes to that menu. Producing menus for groups and special occasions.

To manage and have oversight of food resources and stock management in the kitchen. Seeking to achieve value for money while not compromising on the quality of dishes produced and avoiding waste.

To liaise with and support the Restaurant Manager in achieving key growth targets.

To ensure the development of junior staff and identifying training needs.

The Head Chef should have clear instincts and a good sense of judgment, and be fully conversant with Health and Safety procedures, but someone that is also up for the challenge.
