Location: Windsor Castle, Berkshire
Salary: £23,810 per annum
Hours: Full-time, rota over 7 days
The Dean and Canons of Windsor wish to appoint a full-time member of St George’s Chapel staff.
The Role
The post does not come with accommodation.
The duties are various and fall into five main areas:
- Ceremonial and worship
- Ministry of welcome and liaison with voluntary stewards
- Care of the Chapel
- Cleaning and preparation for events (including lifting heavy furniture).
- The post is part of a seven strong Chapel team.
The Sacristans play a vital part in ensuring the proper functioning of the Chapel as a place of Worship and in its many other roles and activities.
The Precentor has oversight responsibility for the department and the Virger reports directly to him.
All Sacristans report directly to the Virger of the College, in the absence of the Virger a supervisory role will be undertaken by the Deputy Virger.
