We are seeking an Assistant Headteacher to join our client, a Virtual School in Windsor. In this key role, you will lead efforts to promote achievement for looked after children and students with SEND, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive. You'll bring a wealth of leadership experience, a proven track record of improving educational outcomes, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by children affected by trauma.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion the educational attainment of looked after children and students with SEND.
  • Collaborate with schools, social care teams and carers to raise attainment and ensure high-quality Personal Education Plans.
  • Use data and assessment tools to set ambitious targets and drive continuous improvement within the Virtual School.
  • Stay up to date with national educational and social care developments, including the impact of the Children and Social Care Bill on schools.

What You'll Bring:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with significant leadership experience in a school setting.
  • A passion for supporting vulnerable young people, including experience in providing interventions for those at risk of exclusion.
  • Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to translate insights into action.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in building partnerships across schools, social care teams, and families.
  • The ability to manage a team and lead with confidence and empathy.
