Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

Location: Windsor- Remote (with occasional travel to Windsor)

Contract: 6 months.

Pay/Day rate: £65,000 to £70,000

About Us:

Join our client, an innovative organisation dedicated to providing centralised IT services, including cloud hosting and management, as part of their ongoing transformation strategy. We are fully embracing Agile methodologies and Cloud Computing, upgrading legacy MS Windows systems to the latest software versions, and transitioning to Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Role Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Microsoft Windows Azure DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will deliver Azure Cloud Services and infrastructure as code, ideally utilising Terraform. You will embody the "You Build It, You Run It" ethos, emphasising a strong preference for Test Driven Development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automate the build and upgrade of MS Windows VMs within our Azure Cloud Platform.
  • Manage the migration of existing services to the new infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Infosec, Strategy and Architecture, to meet standards and specifications.
  • Provide guidance on Cloud Best Practises.
  • Document processes in collaboration with our Cloud Engineering and DevOps teams.
  • Implement performance and reliability monitoring for servers and services.

Required Skills:

  • Years of sysadmin experience.
  • Years of experience with Azure Cloud Computing.
  • Expertise in Windows administration.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools like Bicep and Puppet.
  • Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, ACLs, and IDSs.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
  • Experience with continuous integration systems.
  • Proven hands-on experience managing highly available, high-traffic web services.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
