Salary: £55,000 - £60,000

The company:

Our client is an EPC business specialising in the design and manufacturing of products used within the aluminium processing industry, they design a range of catalogue products and machines as well as offering a turnkey solution for large factory installations, these products are often used within the recycling and manufacturing industries.

They currently employ 90 members of staff within the UK and have experienced a turnover of over £30 million in the last year and have been established for more than 40 years in the UK.

As a business they are experiencing growth and a consistent large volume of incoming projects globally across Europe, Canda and the middle east, with upcoming projects ranging from £8-10 Million in value, as such they are looking to expand their design team to allow them to run additional projects simultaneously and take on additional workload to help push the business forward  

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a background in working in both hands-on Product design, as well as analysis and calculations of design drawings

You will be joining a team of 8 Engineers spanning across Mechanical, electrical and Controls specialities who you will be working alongside day to day on new projects

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • SolidWorks 3D modelling of components in the machine
  • Creation of 2D technical drawings
  • FEA Analysis
  • Hand calculations - used for calculating stresses on welds, bending moments, thermal fatigue in the machine, bolt arrays
  • Breaking down the whole machine into the assemblies and sub-assemblies
  • Ensure machines are designed in line with machinery directive standards
  • Upholding relevant documentation
  • Working with Packages such as: Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks and Plant 3D
  • Working to EN ISO 12100 Hazard & risk analysis

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • Previous experience in mechanical design engineering
  • Experienced with hand calculations
