Role: SEN Teacher
Location: EX19
Contract: Full time, permanent (40 hours per week, term time only)
Salary: £28,350 - £33,600
Are you a passionate and creative Teacher looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of neurodiverse students? We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist educational setting.
Why this role?
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a peaceful, rural setting where education is truly tailored to individual needs. With small class sizes of just four pupils, you will have the chance to create meaningful learning experiences that inspire and engage. This role allows you to step away from traditional teaching methods and embrace creative, hands-on approaches to learning.
Imagine teaching maths through practical activities like cooking, exploring science through interactive experiments, or using the beauty of nature to spark creativity in art. Every day brings new opportunities to make a difference, helping pupils develop both academically and in essential life skills as they prepare for adulthood.
What you’ll be doing:
-
Designing and delivering personalised learning plans tailored to each students strengths and aspirations
-
Leading engaging classroom activities including planning, teaching and assessing progress
-
Supporting pupils one-to-one or in small groups to enhance learning outcomes
-
Monitoring progress against academic and EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) outcomes
-
Collaborating with Teaching Assistants to provide holistic support
-
Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and essential life skills
What we’re looking for:
-
A qualified and experienced teacher with a passion for SEN education
-
Patience, empathy and resilience - our pupils face unique challenges that require dedicated support
-
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal, for engaging pupils, colleagues and external stakeholders
-
A full UK driving licence - to facilitate off-site learning experiences
-
A genuine commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for neurodiverse students
Why join?
-
Work in a calm, supportive setting where you can focus on truly making an impact
-
Enjoy small class sizes, allowing for more meaningful teacher-student connections
-
Receive ongoing training and professional development to support your career growth
-
Be part of a dedicated, collaborative team that celebrates every success - big or small
