  • £28,437.75 plus £330.34 vetting allowance and £1,653.75 driver allowance

The Role

As a Driver/Underground Operative, you’ll support their transport function by ensuring the smooth and secure transfer of customer assets between their Cheshire storage facility and client locations across the UK. Reporting to the Transport Team Leader, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining their exceptional service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive various vehicles, including 18T & 7.5T box rigids and 3.5T commercial vans
  • Ensure on-time and secure delivery/collection of customer assets
  • Accurately record handling data using a PDT
  • Assist with on-site operations, transferring documents between surface and underground facilities
  • Handle manual tasks such as loading, unloading, palletising, and wrapping assets
  • Represent the company positively through professional appearance and excellent customer service
  • Complete relevant paperwork in accordance with company procedures
  • Comply with mandatory and company Health & Safety standards

The Ideal Candidate

They’re looking for a dependable, experienced driver who thrives in both solo and team settings. You will have:

  • Relevant driving experience
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Full, clean, Category C driving licence
  • Comfortable working alone and with another person(s)
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience and willingness to drive within rural, sub-urban, and urban environments
  • Experience in and willingness to regularly drive long distances on national routes
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
