Your new companyHays Recruitment are happy to announce that we are supporting a single-form entry primary school in Winsford as they require a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to offer intervention and booster sessions across KS1 and support a number of pupils with ASD. This is a long-term temporary contract with full-time hours (8:30am - 3:30pm) starting in the new year.Your new roleIn your new role as a teaching assistant within this school you will be supporting the year 1 and 2 classes. You will offer intervention and booster sessions in core subjects as required and hold intense intervention and boosters with mixed/lower ability pupils in a separate classroom. You will liaise with the class teachers to give feedback on pupil progress and to ensure that all sessions are in line with pupils attainment needs. As well as offering the required intervention and boosters you will support a number of pupils with ASD on a 1:1 basis throughout the school day. You will integrate into the pupils routines and offer speech and language therapy and sensory play within a separate classroom.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience supporting children and young people in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Experience delivering intervention and booster sessions
  • Experience supporting/working with ASD
  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
