We are looking for a Psychology Graduate to join our exceptional special school team. We support students aged 11-17 with moderate learning difficulties and additional complex needs, including speech, language, communication challenges, and behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties.

As a Psychology Graduate, you will play a vital role in supporting students' emotional, social, and academic development. You will work alongside teaching and support staff, applying your psychology knowledge to help create personalized learning plans, and supporting students' mental and emotional well-being.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Psychology Graduate, your key duties will include:

  • Supporting students with emotional, social, and behavioural needs, using your psychology background to provide tailored interventions.
  • Assisting teachers in developing strategies to promote positive behaviour, self-regulation, and emotional well-being in students.
  • Working with students on one-to-one or small group interventions to help them develop coping skills and resilience.
  • Collaborating with clinical professionals and other staff to deliver effective support strategies.
  • Providing insights into students' psychological needs to help improve learning outcomes and emotional development.
  • Encouraging a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and motivated.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A Psychology Graduate with a strong interest in applying your knowledge to support students with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
  • Previous experience or placements working with young people, particularly those with additional needs, is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students.
  • A genuine interest in using psychological principles to support students' emotional and mental health.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with staff to create tailored interventions.
