Maintenance Shift Engineer

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for a new and exciting opportunity? We have the perfect role for you! Our client, a global FMCG manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Shift Engineer to join their team at their site in Winsford, Cheshire.

As a Maintenance Shift Engineer, your main responsibility will be to ensure that production machinery is properly maintained and repaired to enable maximum production speeds with minimum interruptions and breakdowns. You will also be in charge of maintaining maintenance and service records, as well as devising, fabricating, and installing improvements to production machines. You will be required to work a 3 shift pattern on a rotating basis including nights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned maintenance on plant and equipment to a high standard.
  • Respond to breakdowns on production machines.
  • Install and relocate production equipment.
  • Specify and order spare parts.
  • Complete maintenance records and all paperwork required to place orders and book in parts.
  • Read electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Carry out mechanical and pneumatic fault finding.
  • Record work carried out on a daily time sheet.
  • Liaise with other departments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings.
  • Good mechanical skills.
  • Experience in mechanical fault finding.
  • Electrical knowledge preferred but not essential.
  • Experience working in a high-speed, high-pressure production environment.
  • At least 5 years' experience working in a manufacturing background.
  • City & Guilds qualification or equivalent.
