Recycling Operator

We are recruiting for a Recycling Operator to join our Recycling department. The Recycling Operator will report to the Recycling Manager.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm, including Bank Holidays on a 1-week rotating basis. The annual salary for this role is 26,000 with 33 holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the production polythene Recyclate within specification, maximizing production to support manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Ensuring raw materials and material feed are maintained.
  • Completion of blend changes, filter, and die face cleans, as required.
  • Maintenance tasks as trained and approved by Recycling Manager.
  • Weigh, palletize, label, and remove finished product.
  • Accurate completion of all necessary paperwork both operational and health & safety.
  • Maintenance of housekeeping and hygiene standards.
  • Transfer feedstocks from outside areas.
  • Ensuring the AS400 system is updated as required with all complete transactions.
  • Assist in general Warehouse duties as required.
  • Completion of duties in a safe and responsible manner and in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Completion of ad-hoc duties to meet the needs of the business, subject to appropriate training.

Key Skills

  • Desirable:
    • Manufacturing experience,
    • Continuous improvement experience.
    • Experience using management systems such as AS400
  • Essential:
    • Understands manual/labour intensive aspect of role,
    • Experience with shift patterns and/or long hours.
    • Computer literate
